OLE/ActiveX~~
OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) – allows an application (e.g. Word) to include an object (e.g. Excel spreadsheet) and to permit editing using the original application (Excel) without leaving the first application. ActiveX is a newer OLE technology based on DCOM (Distributed COM) which supports web-based and network OLE applications.
